Transfer an App

FastAPI Cloud allows you to move an app from one team to another, for example, to hand it off to a team you collaborate with or to reorganize your apps across different teams. The app keeps its slug and configuration, only the owning team changes.

Who Can Transfer?

To transfer an app, you must be an owner or admin of the team the app currently belongs to. Members cannot transfer apps. Additionally, you must be a member of the team you want to transfer the app to, only teams you are a member of will be listed in the transfer options.

Transfer Process

1. Navigate to your app in the dashboard.
2. Select Settings from the sidebar.
3. In the Transfer App section, select the team you want to transfer the app to from the team selector.
4. Click Transfer App.
5. In the confirmation dialog, type transfer app <your-app-slug> (there’s a copy button for the exact text) and click Transfer App again to confirm the transfer.

If you don’t belong to any other team, the card shows that there are no teams available to transfer to. Create a new team or join another team first.

Note

Your app keeps running on the same URL with no downtime. Once the transfer completes, you’ll be redirected to the app under its new team.

Plan Limits

You can only transfer an app into a team that still has room for it. If the target team has already reached its app limit, the transfer is rejected, and you’ll need to upgrade that team’s plan (or remove an app from it) before trying again. See Billing for per-plan limits.

Reverting a Transfer

Transfers are reversible. As long as you meet the requirements above for both teams, you can transfer the app back to its original team at any time by following the same steps.
